Response from GTR and Network Rail
A GTR spokesperson apologized for the morning's disruptions, attributing them to a signaling system fault between Norwood Junction and London Bridge, as well as the train derailment at Selhurst depot. The independent rail union, Transport Salaried Staffs' Association (TSSA), has demanded a full explanation for the disruptions. The 'do not travel' order, usually reserved for severe weather conditions, remained in place for almost two hours.
TSSA General Secretary Maryam Eslamdoust praised Network Rail members for their efforts in getting services running again, stating that safety on the railways is the union's top priority.
