A Newport shop has new management, with the business now run by Shahbaz Ahmad. He has taken ownership of Green Meadow Stores on Greenmeadow Road and aims to introduce himself to customers by highlighting the improvements since the change in hands.
The store, presented as the renewed Green Meadow Stores, is described by Shahbaz as a family-run operation that has left behind a questionable reputation. He told the Argus that the shop is now clean, well-stocked, and better organized, and he is committed to changing how it’s perceived.
Previously, the former proprietor faced court proceedings over food hygiene concerns, including alleged lapses in contamination protection and pest control. Shahbaz emphasizes that those issues are in the past and notes that he has invested nearly £1,600 into pest-control measures to safeguard customers.
“We’ve put a lot of money into upgrading things, and I want customers to know they’re safe here now,” he said.
The store is located at 32 Greenmeadow Road, Newport, NP19 4LQ, and operates seven days a week from 6:30 am to 9:00 pm.
