Lagos Driver Manhunt: Realtor Killed Over Parking Dispute - Full Story (2026)

Bold opening: A desperate parking dispute turned deadly in Lagos, as police search for a driver who allegedly killed a realtor during a confrontation over a parking space. And this is the part many will want to discuss further...

The Lagos State Police Command has initiated a manhunt for a driver linked to the death of realtor Yinka Agboola, who died following an altercation tied to parking at Royal Pine Estate on Orchid Road, Lekki. Initial reports indicated the clash began when Agboola asked the driver to move his car from the middle of the road to restore free passage and offered an alternative parking option.

Eyewitnesses say the driver reacted with hostility, then entered his vehicle and accelerated toward the crowd. Agboola, 36, reportedly attempted to restrain the driver, who sped away with him still clinging to the steering wheel, ultimately colliding with a curb.

Spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi of the Lagos State Police Command told our correspondent on Saturday that the suspect remains at large. She confirmed the victim’s death and noted that the vehicle involved has been recovered and is now in police custody.

Adebisi stated, “The command is aware of the unfortunate incident. The police traced the vehicle to the suspect’s residence, where it was found. The driver remains at large.”

The vehicle involved is currently held by the police. The victim, who had been in a coma after the incident, sadly died two days later.

Adebisi added that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for deeper investigation.

Security footage from the incident, captured by a nearby CCTV camera and attached to the report, shows a white Mercedes-Benz reversing in a dangerous manner as it nears a group of bystanders. A separate clip captures the moment Agboola was struck and the car sped away.

Efforts to save Agboola were undertaken, but he remained in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of an undisclosed hospital and passed away in the early hours of Wednesday. An X user, @Omolomo, confirmed the death in a Thursday post, writing, “Oh my God, we lost him. He died in the early hours of today.”
