Guys running around,” he said. “The first couple days are helmets and T-shirts, so it’s hard to assess physicality, but the intent and effort were solid. The guys were flying around. There’s a lot to learn—very basic. The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, and today was that first step. We’ve got a long way to go.”
He added, “I like a lot about what happened today, and we’ve got to stack days. Everybody gets excited for day one. I’ve never seen anyone not excited about the first day of practice. The trick is great football teams get excited about every day. So we’ve got to sustain that energy and enthusiasm for what we’re doing.”
