A former bank in Grimsby has been transformed into a luxurious community hub, earning it a 'five-star' rating from visitors. The project, led by the charity CARE (Christian Action & Resource Enterprise), took over the historic Royal Bank of Scotland building on Victoria Street in 2023 and spent two years revitalizing it. With the help of award-winning designer Scott Maddux, the ground floor has been reimagined, offering a public living room, reception area, private crisis support rooms, and a small kitchenette. The interior design aims to create a sense of beauty and dignity, reflecting CARE's mission to provide a welcoming and uplifting environment for the community. Maddux's vision for the space is to 'dialogue with the past,' paying homage to the building's rich history while creating a modern and functional space. The upper floors will soon provide additional space for groups, activities, and partner organizations, further enhancing the community's access to resources and support. The CARE Hub will officially open its doors on January 19th, and visitors have already praised its unique and luxurious atmosphere, comparing it to a 'five-star boutique hotel' and a 'stately home.' The project's success lies in its ability to blend historical charm with modern functionality, creating a space that not only serves the community but also inspires and uplifts its members.
