In an exciting turn of events, Death Cab for Cutie has announced a new chapter in their musical journey by parting ways with Atlantic Records after an impressive 22-year collaboration and signing with Anti-. This significant announcement comes on the heels of unveiling their upcoming North American tour, which will feature talented acts such as Japanese Breakfast, Jay Som, and Nation of Language at select performances. Below, you will find the detailed schedule of their tour dates.
Ben Gibbard, the band’s lead vocalist, expressed his enthusiasm in a statement, saying that they are "ecstatic to join the ranks of Anti-, a label that hosts many artists they admire and have personal connections with."
Originally, Atlantic Records signed Death Cab for Cutie from Barsuk Records back in 2004, recognizing their potential based on the success of their first four albums, particularly the breakthrough record, Transatlanticism, released in 2003. Over the years, they produced six studio albums under Atlantic, starting with Plans in 2005 and culminating in their latest release, Asphalt Meadows, in 2022.
